So you want to run an ultra?

Welcome to dark side of running where we feed the addiction instead of offering a cure. This class is for those runners who have completed at least one run of 25 miles (a marathon) or are running around 35 - 40 miles a week. We will be training to run a 50K (31 miles) or a 50 mile race sometime in May.

Discounted entry to Dances with Dirt in Gnaw Bone, Indiana is included as a part of the class fee.

What the class offers:
1. Group runs every Sunday at 8:00 am at various locations in the West Metro Detroit region, and Wednesday night fun runs at 6:00 pm from Running Fit NOVI
2. Schedules which include 24 week, 18 week or 16 week training plan taken from experienced ultra runners and exercise physiologists.
3. Online support with a members only website to discuss training tips, events and goals.
4. Discussion groups on topics like nutrition, gear and event specific training.
5. Of course a really cool tech shirt.

The first group run will be on Sunday, November 17th at 8:00 am at the Island Lake State Park, at the Island Lake Trailhead (turn right after the booth, turn right again at the sign after about 2 miles). RSVP is necessary (you RSVP by signing up for the class). There will be open enrollment through Jan 19th, when we will have our first official class and kickoff. I will be doing almost all communication by email. When you sign up make sure email is correct, and make note of your login and password for the website.
